AFA serves the United States and the International community of people who keep birds, such as bird breeders, pet owners, veterinarians, re-homers and sanctuaries, conservation scientists, and the commercial members that support aviculture.

      Mission Statement: The mission and purpose of AFA shall be to promote the advancement of Aviculture through educational programs that support the advancement and improvement of breeding practices, husbandry practices, and living conditions for exotic birds, conservation, research and legislative awareness.

      The American Federation of Aviculture, Inc. (AFA) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to keeping birds in our lives. The AFA helps fund small grants for avian research, conservation of species in the wild, provides disaster relief for bird owners in the United States, helps fund educational programs and an annual educational conference. The AFA keeps and eye on legislation designed to make bird keeping difficult or impossible, and we print the AFA Watchbird Journal, a magazine-like periodical chock full of educational articles on bird keeping and the businesses of birds.

      In 2025 the AFA (American Federation of Aviculture) offering a full 3 day Educational Conference. Choose between a full 3 Day Conference attendance or if you cannot stay the entire time, we offer a Daily Conference Attendance package as well. Registration includes access to the vendor hall and all Speaker Presentations. It does not include your banquet ticket for Saturday Night Sep 6th (banquet tickets are available for $75 per person).

      You can add an Off-Site Tour Wednesday AM Sep 3rd (10-4PM) This year’s conference is being highlighted by an off-site zoological tour to the Sylvan Heights Bird Park. Transportation, Lunch, and a special tote bag are included in tour price of $35 per person. Visit: https://www.shwpark.com/
